Hi there! 👋
We built Math Chain to test your brain, speed, and reflexes—not to snoop on your personal life. We believe privacy policies should be easy to read, so here is exactly how we handle your data in plain English.
1. What We Collect (Spoiler: Not Much)
We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or physical address. We don't want your personal data. The only exception is the optional leaderboard (see section 2), and even that is your call.
The only thing we care about is your high score and how fast you can solve math equations under pressure! Any game progress and coins you earn are safely stored locally on your device.
2. The Leaderboard (Totally Optional)
When you graduate, you can choose to send your result to the public leaderboard on our website. It’s completely optional, it never happens automatically, and it has zero effect on gameplay. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send to Leaderboard and confirm.
Here’s exactly what gets sent when you do:
- Username: whatever you type in the confirmation box. Please don’t use your real name!
- Country: the one you picked.
- Grade: your graduation level and difficulty (for example, “Cum Laude, Senior”).
- Date issued: the day you earned the graduation.
- For a Survival score: the number of correct and wrong answers, how long you lasted, and the date.
- For an Unbroken Chain record instead of a graduation: the difficulty, the number of equations in your chain, your total answering time, how many revives you used, the stages it covered, and the date.
- A random ID created on your device, so we can avoid duplicate entries and let you remove yours later. It isn’t linked to your name, your account, or your phone. We also get your app version, just in case something needs fixing.
What we never send: your real name, email, location, device ID, advertising ID, game progress, or coins.
It’s public. Anyone can see your username, country, grade, and date on the leaderboard page at mathchaingame.com. Entries are sent voluntarily by players and aren’t independently verified, so treat the leaderboard as a hall of fame, not an official ranking.
You can remove it any time. Open Settings, then Profile, then Leaderboard entries, and tap Remove. Your entry is deleted from our database right away. (The public page may keep showing it for a few hours until its cache refreshes.) If you reinstalled the game or can’t remove it from the app, email us and we’ll do it for you.
How long we keep it. Until you remove it. We may also hide or delete entries with inappropriate usernames.
Where it lives. The leaderboard runs on Cloudflare. Like any website or app that connects to the internet, your IP address is visible to Cloudflare while your request is handled. We don’t store it in our leaderboard database.
3. Ads and Third-Party Services
To keep Math Chain accessible, we use standard third-party advertising networks (like Google AdMob). But as gamers ourselves, we hate intrusive ads.
Ad Placement: You will only see Banner ads on the Dashboard and Settings pages. We will never put ads on the actual Game screen while you're sweating over math.
Other Ads: We offer optional Rewarded Ads (like watching a quick video to get a “Revive”). We may also carefully place interstitial ads between stages, but never mid-game to interrupt your flow.
Our ad partners may collect anonymous, non-personal data (like your device model or advertising ID) to serve relevant ads.
4. In-App Purchases (No Pay-to-Win Here)
We have exactly ONE In-App Purchase: a simple, one-time payment to permanently remove non-rewarded ads (Banners and Interstitials). That’s it.
You cannot use real money to buy coins, extra lives, or any gameplay advantages. We strictly believe in fair, skill-based competition. Your high score is earned, not bought.
5. Children’s Privacy
Math Chain is brain-boosting and educational. The game itself doesn't collect personal information. The only thing that goes public is the optional leaderboard, and only if the player chooses to send an entry. We ask players not to use their real name there, and anyone can remove their entry at any time. Just be prepared for your kids to get unexpectedly good at math.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we ever add new features that change how data is handled, we will update this page on our website. But our core philosophy will remain the same: your privacy is yours.
